Taylor Swift emerged on the music scene in 2006 at the tender age of 17.
A lot has changed since then for the Pennsylvania native, including her musical genre of choice (bye-bye, country! hello, pop!) .
Just ahead of her 30th birthday on December 13, Daily Mail takes a look at her incredible style transformation.
Taylor was one of the first signings to country music label Big Machine Records.
She entered into the limelight looking fresh faced and unrefined with long blonde curly hair, mini dresses and cowboy boots.
Her girl-next-door appearance was made complete with barely there makeup.
In 2006, the singer/songwriter released ‘Tim McGraw’ as the lead single off her self titled debut album.
The album received rave reviews, with it’s third single, ‘Our Song,’ making the crooner the youngest artist in history to have written and performed a No.1 song on the Hot Country Songs chart.
Maturing her look
In 2008, she released her sophomore studio album, ‘Fearless.’ While still country, it had mainstream pop appeal – and so did her wardrobe!
By the end of 2009, ‘Fearless’ was the top-selling album of the year, complete with chart toppers ‘Love Story’ and the VMA award-winning ‘You Belong With Me.’
With her new found success came a more polished and pulled together look and a new sleek and sculpted mane.
She swapped her cowboy boots for high heels, and we were introduced to her now-signature red lip.
For the Video Music Awards that year, she donned a sequined Kaufman Franco gown, and Lorraine Schwartz diamonds.
While on stage accepting the Moonman for Best Female Video for ‘You Belong With Me’, she was interrupted by Kanye West proclaiming that despite being happy for her victory, Beyoncé still had “one of the best videos of all time” for ‘Single Ladies.’
The incident was heard around the world.
