After practically spearheading the tights-as-trousers movement in Paris last year, Kylie Jenner is showing us all how it’s done in 2023.
On 3 October, the 26-year-old shared an Instagram slideshow of her most recent Paris Fashion Week wardrobe, starting with a previously unseen chocolate brown look to go with her latte makeup. The reality star paired a tight bodysuit with semisheer tights and a brown leather duster, tying the look together with an oversized woven bag.
This fall it seems A-listers are moving away from billowing bottoms and cropped tops in favour of longer shirts and thigh-high boots. However, some celebs like Kylie and Rihanna have gone in another direction, keeping things tight up top while rocking a pair of tights to avoid getting hit with any public indecency charges. One thing they all seem to agree on: Trousers are out.
Of course, Kylie Jenner predicted the no-trousers trend back in 2022. In September of last year, the Kylie Cosmetics mogul debuted a fresh, choppy bob while wearing a pair of Loewe Y-front briefs over tights to Loewe’s spring-summer show at Paris Fashion Week. At the time she coupled the look with a white tank top and gray duster coat, foreshadowing her 2023 style revamp.
To update the silhouette for a new year, Kylie simply traded in her men’s underwear for the brown bodysuit and swapping out her wool coat for slightly less structured leather. What’s old is new again.
