The reality star celebrated the milestone by thanking all of her followers on Thursday night, posting a link to the ‘stories’ behind her top posts.

“Can’t believe I reached 100 million Instagram followers, all thanks to YOU! Get the stories behind my top pics,” she wrote.

Some of her top posts included pictures of baby son, Saint, as well as family shots with daughter North and husband Kanye West.

Selena Gomez, who is currently the most followed person on the social media site, became the first person to reach the 100 million mark last September.

She was quickly followed by fellow pop stars Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Beyoncé, as well as footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.

Instagram’s own account is still the most followed on the app, with an impressive 223 million followers.

The stars who gained the most followers last year included Gigi and Bella Hasid and Cara Delevingne while the most liked photo of last year was a picture of Gomez.

The photo-sharing site had more than 500 million active users by December, with the introduction of Instagram stories and longer videos making celebrities more accessible to fans than ever before.
