Born on November 23, 1936, in Providence, Rhode Island, Frank Caprio grew up in an Italian immigrant family, facing hardships but always believing in human kindness. Since 1985, he served at the Providence Municipal Court, where his humane rulings touched millions through viral social media videos. One memorable moment was when he dismissed a speeding ticket for a 96-year-old man driving his cancer-stricken son to the doctor.

In December 2023, he announced his pancreatic cancer diagnosis, a devastating illness. Yet, he remained optimistic, sharing his treatment journey and asking for prayers. Just a day before his passing, from his hospital bed, he smiled and thanked his 3.3 million Instagram followers. “I know it’s a long road, but I’ll fight with all I’ve got,” he once said.

Today, we mourn the loss of a beacon of compassion, but his spirit lives on in the acts of kindness he inspired. Please take a moment to remember him—a man who showed us justice can be served with love.
