The name Messi is now mentioned a lot when Nestor, who runs an antique furniture repair workshop in Burzaco, a southern suburb of Buenos Aires, gave the 2022 World Cup champion a very unique gift. “We seek to bring back the throne to the king. This ambitious idea began to pop into my head not long after Argentina won the 2022 World Cup. Messi is like a king and he needs a majestic seat to match the throne. It took us a long time to research what the design would be like. I wanted it to be perfect, it was something unique and it took time to get the correct proportions of everything, the details, from the wood to the other materials,” Nestor shares. The businessman also explained that although they specialize in the production of French-style furniture, the idea changed when he made a suggestion to the carver to choose a different, more personalized production method. “We have prepared for this, everything will definitely go well. I know that we have what it takes to make it happen. The thing that takes the most time is the carving due to the precision of every detail,” Nestor added.

Although still in the process of being completed, it can be seen that every part of the chair is very beautiful. The two sides of the chair are engraved with the names of Messi’s three children: Thiago, Mateo and Ciro along with their respective dates of birth and the name of his wife Antonela. In the main center on the backrest is an engraving of the World Cup Championship Trophy, and on the two sides of the backrest are the Copa America and Finalissima Cups. The three-star symbol representing Argentina’s three World Cup titles, the ball and the number 10, Messi’s familiar jersey number, are also engraved. “The Cups are the things that attract the most attention and also mark a journey and achievement of Messi,” Nestor said, “Messi is very close to everyone and this makes us try to do something even more.” That, for example, give him a gift as a token of gratitude for everything.”

With the chair frame almost completed, Nestor and his colleagues will proceed with wood-colored lacquer treatment, as well as gilding the World Cup Trophy, and at the same time carry out the chair upholstery process. It is important to know that all operations are completely manual. “When completed, it will be a work that everyone has to see. A real throne for Messi,” Nestor emphasized.
